        07 April 2014 - Keeping Costs 
          Down
        Facing ever increasing postage, packing 
          and storage costs but not wanting to put our prices up we have decided 
          to simplify the way that we do business and are now only able to provide 
          fresh smoked trout to order, with a leadtime of up to 3 weeks depending 
          on where in our production cycle we are. We realise that this makes 
          'on the spot' orders almost impossible to fulfil and apologise for this, 
          but as a small business it is the only practical way to keep costs down 
          outside of Christmas which is of course our busiest time.
        14th November 2013 - We are taking 
          orders for Christmas!
        This year we are concentrating on two 
          products: our flagship cold smoked trout which comes pre-sliced in 200g 
          packets and our smoke roasted large trout fillets also in 200g packets. 
          
          Both cold smoked and smoke roasted are £10 per 200g packet, 
          with a minimum order of £20. To guarantee delivery before Christmas 
          please place your order by Friday 6th December.
        
        16th March 2013 - We are on sale 
          in delis in Edinburgh, London, Sussex and Oxfordshire.

        3rd January 2013 - We have hit 
          100 
          LIKES on our Facebook page !
        As a wonderful start to the New Year we 
          have hit 100 likes on our facebook page. Everyone who likes us is very 
          special to us but it was Alexandra Harrison who was the lucky 100th 
          liker and as such will be receiving her free packet of smoked trout 
          later this week.
        21st December - We increased our 
          Christmas orders by over 50% compared to 2012!
        Thank you to all our wonderful customers 
          for placing so many Christmas orders. With just Shara doing the packing 
          and posting it was quite a challenge but we loved every moment of it. 
        
        And if you were one of the lucky people 
          to be enjoying Moffat Water Foods smoked trout on Christmas day then 
          we'd love to hear about it, and maybe even see the odd photo or two.
         
        Our new packaging is finalised! 
          
      
         
          |  | After a few months of tweaking and 
              fine-tuning we are delighted to announce that our new cardboard 
              sleeves are going to print and will be ready in time for Christmas 
              sales and orders starting from the third week of November.  |

      The other exciting news is that Shara is 
        now committed full-time to Moffat Water Foods - with a new website, new 
        online ordering and lots more in the pipeline.

        Rainbow Trout! - 
        Saturday 8th September 2012
      Despite the road closures we had a great 
        day with locals enjoying rainbow trout prepared and smoked in different 
        ways plus an exclusive tour of the farm. Monty was on hand with innovative 
        ideas for new recipes and Shara learnt a new filleting trick to avoid 
        needing to pin-pone, so a great day all round!

        Sustainable fish sales surge in the UK
        Sales of alternative and more sustainable species of fish have risen sharply 
        over the past year, UK supermarkets reported on Wednesday. Following a 
        year of high-profile awareness campaigns to encourage take-up of sustainable 
        fish, Sainsbury's has seen a surge of as much as 117% in sales of lesser-known 
        fish species across the UK this year compared to 2011. It says sales of 
        sea bass are up by 57%, fresh pollack by 15%, trout by 29% and tilapia 
        by a significant 117%.
